The Municipality of Villers-la-Ville, committed to fighting breast cancer as a "Think Pink Town", held its first "Race for the Cure®" on Sunday, October 11, 2026, raising €13,552.

Since June 2026, the Municipality of Villers-la-Ville has partnered with Think Pink in the fight against breast cancer, becoming the 2nd "Think Pink Town" in the Brabant wallon. This commitment aims to raise citizen awareness about breast cancer screening, relay the association's campaigns, participate in the pink ribbon campaign by decorating the town in pink during October, and annually organize the "Race for the Cure®" sports event.
The funds collected from the "Race for the Cure®", with proceeds going to scientific research and support for those affected by the disease, reached €13,552 through registrations. Profits from the bar, catering, and merchandise sales also boosted the total amount raised.
The sports event took place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, starting from the Sports Complex. The 616 participants had a choice of 4 routes: two race and walk routes of 6.2 and 12.5 km through paths and woods, and two 2.8 and 8.2 km road walks accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM).
Caroline Marmann, Echevine (Alderman) in charge of Health, along with the entire Collège communal (Municipal College), expressed their gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and partners for the success of this event. The next event is scheduled for the second Sunday of October next year.
