The municipality of Hélécine, in collaboration with the Walloon Region, is launching a stray cat sterilization campaign from 10/01/26 to 01/31/27.

Addressing the growing issue of stray cats in its territory, the municipality of Hélécine, with the support of the Walloon Region, has initiated a new sterilization campaign. This initiative aims to control the feline population and ensure animal welfare.
The campaign will run for four months, from October 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027. During this period, citizens can benefit from this essential service for managing stray cat populations.
To participate, interested citizens can obtain humane traps made available on loan. Once a stray cat is captured, it will be necessary to contact the designated veterinarian, Weevet. She will arrange to collect the animal directly from the citizen's home.
After the sterilization procedure, the cat will be released back into its original territory, ensuring its well-being and adherence to its natural habits.
