Young tree saplings ready for planting for the Week of the Tree.

The Commune of Ohey is organizing a free distribution of young plants on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Service des Travaux (rue de Bologne 4 in Ohey), as part of the Week of the Tree.

In 2026, the Week of the Tree celebrates passerines, those familiar birds that liven up our gardens and play an essential role in biodiversity. By planting suitable trees and shrubs, everyone can help offer them food, shelter, and nesting sites for many years.
In this context, an awareness stand on Invasive Exotic Species will be run by the Contrat de Rivière Meuse Aval. The event is open to everyone, without prior reservation.
Among the proposed species particularly beneficial to passerines are: purging buckthorn, chestnut, red dogwood, raspberry, wild cherry, common walnut, wild apple, blackthorn, rowan, etc.
Together, let's plant for biodiversity and make our gardens welcoming refuges for birds!
