As part of its zero-waste action plan, the municipality of Profondeville, in collaboration with BEP Environnement, organized an "Age-Friendly City" (VADA) day in Lustin on Tuesday, October 6th. The aim was to promote knowledge transfer and social connection as effective drivers for sustainable behavioral change.
Around fifty seniors participated in various activities with 5th and 6th primary students from the communal school, including a practical workshop led by BEP Environnement: « Snack Attack! ». This interactive session focused on preparing healthy and planet-friendly snacks, such as the « Nutecao » recipe.
The workshop's main objectives were to reduce superfluous packaging, minimize food waste, and save energy through no-cook recipes. The festive day concluded with a dance and theater performance prepared by the participants.
This hands-on experience demonstrated that changing our habits is achievable for everyone, highlighting how social connection, shared experiences, and simplicity can drastically reduce packaging and waste. BEP Environnement thus emphasizes the availability of numerous simple solutions like repairing, making, sharing, or reusing to foster a more circular economy.
