The SPW Agriculture has launched the Installation and Investment Aid (AII) program, offering a €70,000 subsidy to young farmers under 41 for establishing or taking over a farm in Wallonia.

The Installation and Investment Aid (AII) program aims to encourage generational renewal in agriculture and support the economic viability of farms during their initial years of operation. This aid is intended for young, active farmers under 41 who are establishing themselves for the first time. It consists of a lump-sum subsidy of €70,000.
It is crucial to inquire early about eligibility conditions, as the order of steps is important. Prerequisites include obtaining a Partner number in the SiGeC system, a unique installation date, and recognized skills proving the aptitude to conduct agricultural activity. An accredited consultant can assist candidates throughout this process.
Applications must be submitted to the administration via the Pac On Web portal, no later than 3 years after the installation date. The aid is disbursed in two installments: 75% upon payment request and 25% after verification of the business plan's objectives. Farmers operating on a supplementary basis must commit to becoming principal farmers within 5 years.
The process involves selecting an accredited consultant to develop a business plan, verifying prerequisite conditions (producer number, unique installation date, qualifications), preparing the online application, and finally, processing by the Walloon Paying Agency (OPW). Dossier selection is based on predefined criteria and available budget.
Following approval, an initial payment of 75% is made after positive on-site and administrative controls. The remaining 25% is disbursed after validation of the business plan's follow-up report, which must demonstrate the achievement of a minimum income of €15,000 per member. Compliance with commitments during and after the business plan period is mandatory, or repayment may be required.
