Since October 1st, 2026, Wallonia has implemented a new energy renovation support scheme, targeting the most energy-intensive homes.

The objective is to encourage the renovation of the least energy-efficient homes. Homes classified as F or G must reach at least a D label after renovation, while those classified as E must reach at least a C label. This new system aims to accelerate the renovation of 'energy-leaking' properties.
The scheme primarily relies on a renovation loan. Two options are available: the Rénopack, a zero-interest loan with a repayment reduction, for households with taxable income below or equal to €67,100; and the Rénoprêt, a loan with advantageous interest rates for taxable incomes between €67,100.01 and €122,800, as well as for landlords and co-ownership associations.
To simplify procedures, regional aid will be calculated globally for all eligible works (roof, insulation, windows, heating, etc.). The maximum loan amount is increased to €75,000 for a single-family home, to better cover the actual cost of ambitious energy renovations.
An energy audit is a mandatory step before starting work. It helps identify priority renovations and optimize long-term investments.
