The initiative aims to help homeowners navigate the complexities of home renovation, addressing questions about priority work, budget planning, and available aid. The support includes a personalized energy and financial diagnosis to identify key renovations, estimate costs, and tailor projects to individual needs and means.
As of September 1, 2026, LoCal’Renov had engaged or raised awareness among 315 individuals, significantly exceeding the initial target of 80. Of these, 132 received a comprehensive home diagnosis. More concretely, 49 individuals have begun seeking quotes, and 26 have already started renovation work, surpassing the first-year goals of 40 diagnostics and 5 initiated construction sites.
The project places a strong emphasis on accessibility for low-income households, with 45% of participants belonging to income categories R1 and R2. The goal is to enable these households to prepare for renovations by offering free advice and better information on available grants.
The diagnostics conducted this past year estimate a potential of €7.7 million in renovation work. If these projects materialize, they could lead to estimated reductions of 60 to 70% in energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. To facilitate the transition from diagnosis to actual work, LoCal’Renov has also established a network of 24 building contractors.
Many projects are still in the preparation phase and are expected to progress in the coming months. Residents in Couvin, Doische, Florennes, Philippeville, Viroinval, or Walcourt considering renovations can contact LoCal’Renov for assistance. The support is free.
