Due to persistent drought, the mayor of Libin has extended public water usage restrictions until October 31, 2026.

Persistent drought conditions and diminishing water resources necessitate the continuation of measures to preserve the potable water supply for the population. Through a new police ordinance dated September 30, 2026, the mayor has extended these restrictions until October 31, 2026, inclusive, unless the situation improves earlier.
Authorized uses include domestic and sanitary needs, essential professional activities that cannot reasonably be deferred, and uses necessary for the health, safety, sanitation, or well-being of people and animals. Limited and controlled manual watering of vegetable gardens for family consumption with a watering can or similar device is also permitted, excluding hoses and automatic systems.
Outside of these expressly authorized uses, prohibitions include watering lawns and ornamental gardens, filling private swimming pools, washing vehicles, and cleaning outdoor surfaces such as terraces and sidewalks.
The Municipality of Libin urges everyone to limit their water consumption to essential needs. The full ordinance is available online for detailed information on all measures and exceptions.
