Since October 1st, Wallonia has implemented a new energy renovation aid scheme, aiming to simplify the system and focus support on the most energy-intensive homes and households most in need.

This new framework primarily revolves around an aided loan, such as the Rénopack or Rénoprêt. It prioritizes the most energy-intensive dwellings. Aid is now more closely linked to household income and the energy savings expected from the work, with the goal of significantly improving the PEB (Building Energy Performance) label.
A preliminary energy audit is crucial for identifying priority renovations and developing a coherent renovation project, ensuring the effectiveness of the interventions.
Previous aid schemes, including the Primes Habitation and the former Rénopack/Rénoprêt system, ended on September 30th. Applications submitted within the deadlines will naturally be processed under the old rules.
