The City of Florenville has completed works aimed at securing and improving the path between the Conques viaduct and the N884, a section identified as problematic for soft mobility.

As part of the European INTERREG VI project "Ardenne ITInérance Mobilité Infrastructures" (AITIMI), which aims to sustainably improve cycle networks in the cross-border Ardenne region, the City of Florenville has finished works to secure and enhance the path between the Conques viaduct and the N884. This section, identified as a problematic point on the Centre Ardenne cycle route, required intervention to make it more comfortable and safer for slow users, particularly cyclists.
Carried out by the company LECOMTE SA, the works have brought several concrete improvements: modification of the descent side to favor a path reserved for soft mobility, softening of the slope, alteration of the surface to make the path usable by a wider range of users, and improved visibility upon arrival at the N884 to better control speed and approach this area with greater safety.
This development addresses a local issue and follows on from the INTERREG V project "Ardenne Cyclo". The AITIMI project aims to sustainably optimize active mobility in the Ardenne region, improving the quality of infrastructure and the safety of cycle routes.
The realization of this development benefits from financial support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Tourisme Wallonie, with subsidies of 60% and 30% respectively. This support contributes to a global plan to enhance itinerancy and active mobility in the Ardenne, strengthening the coherence of developments beyond administrative borders.
