From November 1, 2026, an experimental speed limit of 50 km/h will be introduced on the municipal roads crossing the Anlier Forest, initiated by the communes of Attert, Fauvillers, Habay, Léglise, and Martelange.

This joint measure aims to enhance road safety, improve coexistence among various users (drivers, cyclists, walkers), and preserve the natural character of the forest massif. Anlier Forest is a shared natural space, crossed by several communal roads that are often narrow, winding, and have limited visibility, also used as transit routes.
The restriction will be implemented through police ordinances and will apply from November 1, 2026, at 8 AM to April 30, 2027, at 4 PM. It will be indicated by C43 traffic signs. This six-month experimental phase will allow for an evaluation of the measure's effects before any decision on its potential continuation.
The Walloon Public Service – Mobility and Infrastructure issued a favorable technical opinion on July 22, 2026, following a request on June 5, 2026. The communes opted for an experimental period in line with the recommendations.
During the experiment, the communes will inform users about the measure's objectives. An evaluation will be conducted at the end of the period to decide on maintaining, adapting, or removing the limit. Communal Councils will then be consulted for complementary regulations.
The communes of Attert, Fauvillers, Habay, Léglise, and Martelange invite all users to respect this limit and adapt their driving to the specificities of forest roads for a safer and more preserved Anlier Forest.
