From Wednesday, November 11 to Friday, November 13, 2026, the Municipality of Orp-Jauche will hold a series of ceremonies to honor the victims of the two world wars, as well as Belgian soldiers who fell in service of peace. The Collège communal will lay flowers at memorial monuments across the entity's villages.
Wednesday, November 11 will begin with official ceremonies and floral tributes. Scheduled stops include Noduwez (8:55 AM), Marilles (9:05 AM), Énines (9:15 AM), Jauche (9:30 AM), Folx-les-Caves (10:00 AM), Jandrenouille (10:15 AM), and Jandrain (10:30 AM and 10:45 AM). Commemorations continue in Orp-le-Grand with a floral tribute and speech at the Place du 11ème Dragons français at 11:00 AM, followed by a closing at the Place communale at 11:45 AM.
Due to works on rue Sainte-Barbe and access difficulties to the cemetery of Orp-le-Grand, the stops at the Calvaire and the tomb of MDL Leroux will not take place this year. Citizens are invited to join the members of the Collège communal.
On Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, ceremonies will be held with the entity's schools. To pass on the memory to younger generations, students will participate in tribute ceremonies at the local war memorials. Timetables include 10:00 AM in Noduwez and 11:00 AM in Marilles on Thursday, followed by 1:30 PM in Jandrain and 2:30 PM in Folx-les-Caves. On Friday, ceremonies are scheduled for 10:00 AM in Jauche and 11:00 AM in Orp-le-Grand.
A representative from the Collège communal, Chargés de Mission, and a flag bearer from the Patriotic Associations will be present. Families of students and all citizens are welcome to share these moments of remembrance.
