Thanks to the generosity of residents and the mobilization of numerous partners and volunteers, 120 boxes of products were collected. This success is the result of a genuine intergenerational wave of solidarity.
Five schools in Chaumont-Gistoux organized collections among their students. Youth movements, including scouts from Taïga and the Wolf Cubs of Fleur Rouge from the Corroy-le-Grand Unit, the Paravitam Unit of Gistoux, the CJD scouts of Dion-le-Mont, and the pioneers of the Vieusart Unit, also participated enthusiastically. Members of the Lions Club handled the collection and transport of donations, notably at the Delhaize in Wavre.
The operation benefited from the commitment of partner businesses, which hosted volunteers and promoted the initiative. Great thanks are extended to the volunteers of all ages for their work in staffing collection points, transporting and sorting goods, as well as to the staff of the CPAS and the Municipality for organizing and managing the logistics. The generosity of the residents of Chaumont-Gistoux and Wavre was crucial.
Beyond the quantities collected, this drive highlights the strength of mutual aid and civic engagement. The 2026 edition is hailed as a great success, with the idea of repeating it next year being mentioned.
