The Léon Fredericq Foundation announced on Wednesday, October 7th, the recipients of its 2026-2027 grants and awards, dedicating a record €4.2 million to medical research and the fight against cancer, particularly at the University of Liège and the CHU de Liège.

This substantial funding benefits researchers affiliated with the FNRS or the Télévie program at ULiège. In total, 107 lump-sum credits have been awarded to FNRS Aspirants, FRIA or FRESH Scholars, Télévie Doctoral Students, and FNRS Clinician-Researchers. These funds aim to significantly accelerate the work of these young scientists.
Support for Clinician-Researchers is also renewed with the funding of eight new mandates. The FNRS welcomes these strengthened ties with the Léon Fredericq Foundation, a collaboration driven by a shared ambition to promote excellence in scientific research.
