The "Build Your Future" event on October 1st in Grâce-Hollogne will offer an immersion into construction trades to address recruitment difficulties in Liège province.
Following an event in Verviers on September 1st, "Construis ton avenir" (Build Your Future) will take place on October 1st in Grâce-Hollogne. Initiated by Embuild Wallonie in partnership with Constructiv and Le Forem, and supported by IFAPME, this day aims to showcase a growing sector in the province of Liège. The event has already attracted 170 job seekers, with around thirty spots still available. Registration is open on leforem.be.
The construction sector is facing significant recruitment challenges, with over 5,000 job offers listed on the Forem website, more than 1,300 of which are in the province of Liège. The most sought-after professions include roofer, mason, plasterer, and electrician. These trades will be featured at the event in Grâce-Hollogne. Most positions offered are permanent contracts (CDI), highlighting the sector's stable employment prospects.
"Build Your Future" offers job seekers an immersive experience: site visits, hands-on technical skill demonstrations at training centers, and opportunities to interact with industry professionals. Participants can directly register for trade trials, training programs, and potentially secure employment. The goal is to overcome barriers to entering the construction field and promote careers with immediate and long-term prospects.
In an era of technological transformation, human skills, manual expertise, and field knowledge remain crucial. The sector seeks motivated individuals eager to learn, regardless of age or gender. Previous editions in Wallonia have gathered nearly 800 job seekers, with about 60% proceeding to a trade trial, confirming the effectiveness of this approach in connecting talent with companies.
The 10,663 recruitment projects identified in Walloon construction, over 60% of which are permanent contracts, underscore the sector's strategic importance for economic development and regional transition. Investing in skills is a collective priority to attract new talent.

As a leading operator in work-study training, IFAPME wanted to participate in the "Construis ton avenir" orientation days, alongside Embuild, Constructiv, and Le Forem, to make these trades more accessible and attractive. These days offer concrete immersion, allowing job seekers to test in-demand trades, discover the realities of the field, and interact with experienced professionals. At IFAPME, over eight out of ten trainees find employment within six months of completing their training, a rate that is even higher in construction trades. These results highlight the relevance of work-study programs in meeting business needs while offering sustainable future prospects for job seekers."
The event will take place on Thursday, October 1st, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at ConstruForm Grâce-Hollogne, located at Rue de Wallonie 21, 4460 Grâce-Hollogne. Registration is mandatory by September 29th via leforem.be (subject to availability).
